A proud Dunghutti man with family connections to Yuin Country, Josh brings extensive leadership experience across public policy, organisational reform, and First Nations policy and program design.    Since joining the NIAA, Josh has played a key role in strengthening partnerships across government, communities and stakeholders, while helping to shape the agency’s strategic policy agenda and reform priorities. He is committed to ensuring the voices, aspirations and expertise of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples are reflected in the design and delivery of policies and programs.    Prior to joining the NIAA, Josh built a distinguished career spanning law, government and advisory leadership. He has practised as a solicitor and held senior executive positions across justice, health and human services sectors, including serving as Executive Director of Aboriginal Victoria.    Josh is widely recognised for his contribution to significant reform initiatives, including treaty processes, justice reform, and strategies to strengthen the Aboriginal community-controlled sector. His experience includes leading major policy and business case development for national First Nations institutions and providing advice on complex, system-wide reform agendas.    With a strong background in First Nations policy, social reform and executive leadership, Josh continues to support the NIAA’s work to improve outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples through meaningful partnerships, evidence-informed policy and collaborative approaches across government and communities.
