The Alliance produces Indigenous-led research and capability initiatives to build and drive systemic change in the Indigenous employment and training sector.
Building Strong Evidence and Knowledge
Indigenous Employment and Training Sector
Across Australia, Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations, not-for-profits and private enterprises form the Indigenous employment and training sector. Together, they support Indigenous learners and jobseekers to access education, training and employment opportunities.
The sector plays a critical role in connecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to sustainable employment. Its experience and expertise are essential to shaping policy, programs and practice that respond to the needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
Evidence-Based Research
We lead Indigenous-driven research that captures experiences, challenges and opportunities across the Indigenous employment and training sector. Our work is grounded in both evidence and culture, turning insight into action. Our work ensures the experience and expertise of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and the organisations working with them informs the decisions that affect employment and training.
Capability Resources
We turn research into action by creating practical resources that strengthen the Indigenous employment and training sector. Our guides, frameworks, training programs and tools support providers, employers and communities to build the skills and knowledge needed to achieve lasting outcomes for Indigenous jobseekers and employees.
Policy & Practice Influence
We work with the sector, governments, and industry to use research findings to inform policy and everyday practices. By bringing evidence and sector expertise into these conversations, we are shaping systems that are culturally safe, and effective, bringing programs into practice that improve outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
Research & Knowledge in Action
Our ultimate goal is long-term, systemic change that improves employment outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and builds stronger futures. By producing both practice and national policy, The Alliance helps to create a sector that is resilient, innovative, and community-led.
